At NZ Nīkau, our focus is on producing high‑quality nīkau palms (Rhopalostylis sapida).
Owned and operated by Nick and Gemma Alexander, NZ Nīkau offers a range of carefully selected nīkau forms and variations, with plant numbers and grade options continuing to expand each season.
Nick’s passion for nīkau palms began while working in a local native plant nursery, where he completed an NZQA Certificate in Horticulture (Nursery Production). After meeting Gemma and starting a family, the pair decided to turn what began as a hobby into a small niche business, officially opening for sales in 2026.
We aim to supply landscapers, developers, councils, major reforestation and large‑scale development projects, as well as farmers and everyday Kiwi gardeners.
